Once all of your carpet records have been entered into the program you are ready to use the software to create price quotes for customers who come into your store.

Here's A Scenario

Mrs. Ryan comes into your store and is interested in a plush carpet for her family room which measures 12' x 30'. She is not interested in the most expensive carpet you carry, but she is also not interested in a low price carpet as well. On the main program window you set the texture combo box to "Plush", and the Price Range Combo box to Medium, and then click on Search Database. CompuCarpet will then display all the medium priced, plush carpets you carry in your store.

You then show her carpet samples that you think she may be interested in. She selects one of the samples and asks about it's price. You then can search the database for that sample from the Search menu, or you can use the Carpet Register from the File menu to find the sample.

Once you click on the style all the information will be displayed on the Main screen. This will include the style, manufacturer, texture, yarn, the price per square yard, the pad, and labor charges per square yard. Using the calculation window enter the carpet size, and click Calculate.

The software will then display the total cost of the carpet including sales tax, installation, and pad charges. If the customer would like a price on a different sample, simply click search for a different sample and click the Calculate button again. The price will be updated to reflect the change. You can then print this information out for your customer just the way it is displayed, or add this customer to the database of customers by clicking on the Create New Customer button. This will take you to the Customer Information Window. (see below)

You can print out this record, or you can even e-mail the record to your customer using CompuCarpet's built in e-mail generator.

The software will automatically format the e-mail for you by entering your default message that was saved when you ran the Setup Wizard and the Memo field filled in on the Customer Information window. All the pertinent information about the carpet is filled in for you. Just click on Send Quote and your quote will be sent to your customer's e-mail account through the Internet.
